The True Measure of Success

Some people have the notion that they are not successful because they don't have a car, money or a degree and other things in life. If you are in this group mentioned, please go beyond yourself and touch someone's life positively then, your service and love will bring you true success and fulfillment. Success is truly measured according to the number of lives you have impacted. The true measure of success is not the amount of material possessions one has but the way one live his or her life and the impact it has on others. Success can truly be measured in relation to self-development, family-bond, friends and relationships, contribution to humanity's betterment, influence and goals actualized. Many people only focus on material possession when measuring or defining success; that is wrong. Few people know the true meaning and measure of success. Being wealthy or famous is not really being a success because we know many famous celebrities that have committed suicide or whose lives are not worthy of emulation. True success empowers others to achieve success. Success is and should be measured in something worthwhile than money - lasting legacy. Success is the positive sum of your daily life. Mr. T. Kilos works in a multi-national firm and desires to become the office of the manager of his department. Guess what he did? He began snubbing his colleagues and backbiting. He now used the time he should spend with his family to go out with his Managing Director for the man to like him. His wife and children complained but he gave deaf ear to their complaint saying that they were enemies of progress. As time went by, he began having problems with his colleagues and family. Kilos went on blackmailing his co-workers in other to win the MD to his side. To cut the long story short, after a year Mr. Kilos was promoted to the position of a departmental manager. Unfortunately, he got home that evening and saw his ten year old daughter making love to a guy under the staircase and he was furious. When he entered his sitting room, he saw his only son smoking marijuana. What struck him most was the divorce letter he saw in the bedroom. His wife left him. When he resumed work the next day, he found out that he has lost the friendship and team spirit that existed between him and his colleagues. Many people in the quest to achieve success have hurt their friends and loved ones and when they now got to the top they said it's lonely at the top, not knowing that they didn't do things right. Be careful of the system and strategies you use in attaining your success. Never do things that will cause you bitter experience.
Many men and women, in the quest of acquiring wealth or getting to the top of the ladder in their career have destroyed the happiness of their homes or the good relationships they had with friends. No matter the amount of money that they made in the quest or the position they attained truly, they are not successful because charity begins at home. Try to achieve a balance in all you do in life. Do not sacrifice the joy of your home for upliftment in your career rather, strike a balance and build harmony in your life. The simplest way to explain true success and its measurement is successity. Successity is the state of attainment of positive relationships, good health, eminence, wealth, influence and abundance, and using this attainments to empower people instead of disempowering them. This level of life is more than networking; it is higher life and immortality. The True measure of success is the number of life it enriches. A true success should have succession and you are not successful until your successor succeeds. The next time you measure success put into consideration whether the success empower or disempower people; if it empowers people then, it is true success. © Ifeanyi Enoch Onuoha (Higherlife Coach)

  1. We are not measured by how much we made but by how much we made out of men.
